AWI National Quality Certification

Lyndan, Inc. of Tampa has been named a Certified Participant in the Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program. This program evaluates woodworking firms in a variety of ways before awarding them Certified Participants. They have been certified at the Premium grade level.

The criteria and tests for the Certified Participant status include completing a written examination demonstrating evidence of understanding of the current edition of the Architectural Woodwork Quality Standards, published by the Architectural Woodwork Institute.

Lyndan, Inc. was also required to provide documentation of performance, showing the ability to produce work meeting the AWI grades; submit at least ten letters of reference; and host plant and project visits by quality Certification Program representatives in which products, shop drawings, samples, and previously completed work are inspected to verify eligibility.

As a result of this status, Lyndan Inc. is now certified by the Architectural Woodwork Institute as qualified to manufacture AWI Quality Certification Program projects and to certify that the work has been manufactured in accordance with the AWI Quality Standards.

The Architectural Woodwork Institute is a trade association representing custom architectural woodwork manufacturers, their suppliers, and related professionals in the U.S. and Canada.

Architectural Woodwork Quality Standards, published by the Architectural Woodwork Institute and in its 7^th Edition [Ed: 8th Edition now available], provides the standards for three levels of quality for interior architectural woodwork: Premium, Custom, and Economy.

The AWI Quality Certification Program was established to raise and maintain the professional standards in the architectural woodwork industry through a program of professional development.
